Thanksgiving at the Sooter-Nances 2008

Dear Uncle Darryl and Dear Aunt Robin served up a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for the Blacks, the Marquez's and dear Grandma Ruthie. Aaron and Andrea were there too. Abby and Kenyon came later for dessert.
The new electric fireplace kept us warm and cozy. They rented plates and tables. Cooked ham and turkey

I think Aunt Jean would be pleased to see the tradition of opening up her home for all the relatives on Thanksgiving being carried on so well by Darryl and Robin.

Later we got to see most of the Vanderhoffs at Grandma Ruthie's for dessert. Counting the exchange students there were 43 people in all.

"A Fowl Experience"

As of yesterday we have a family of peacocks. Two cocks (Tiana just informed that one of them escaped over the hill and got eaten by a black bear), one peahen and three young ones, still to young to tell whether they are peacocks or hens. Mom says the cock will most likely come back to its relatives.We also got three Banty hens and one rooster, the kind with feathers on their legs. Before we got all these birds, we had 13 chickens, one died for no particular reason, and two got eaten by a coyote. It was a "fowl experience."

p.s. Never, and I mean NEVER, ride in a car with a cage full of peacocks for an hour, it was a FOUL experience!

Christmas Shopping

On Saturday Aki and I (Jacque), along with Samuel and Sukey, went Christmas shopping! We bought Mom some...well, let's say useful things for Christmas. In order to keep it a surprise, I won't post what we got, but I hope she likes them. However, we aren't near done!

It's been a year

Hello, it's been a year since anyone has done anything on this blog, so I though I should fix that. This is Jacque filling in for Mom, because she never seems to have time to post, but maybe if I get her into it, she will do it more. If I had access to a camera, I would post pictures, but since my camera broke, we have not taken any pictures. Positively shameful, I know.
As of today, I will urge my Mother to update our family and friends as to our doings.
